Mel Gibson’s ‘Hangover 2′ Cameo Scrapped

What a difference a few days can make. For those “Hangover” fans who were excited — or maybe just perplexed — to hear the news about Mel Gibson signing on for a cameo in “The Hangover 2,” it appears the deal has unraveled.

According to The Wrap, Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures and director Todd Phillips have confirmed that Gibson’s cameo has been scrapped.

“I thought Mel would have been great in the movie,” Phillips said in a statement. “And I had the full backing of [WB president] Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”
