Beyonce is back on the big screen and she will be playing an aspiring singer-turned-superstar. “A Star Is Born” is to be directed and produced by Oscar winner Clint Eastwood for Warner Bros. There have been no announcements regarding who will play the male lead.

The original 1976 version starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The producers of that film, Billy Gerber and Jon Peters, are also taking part in this new project. It is said to be a full-on musical with production set to begin sometime in the fall.
